Albanian Open 2016

The Albanian Open in 2016 were the 144th Tournament of 9-Ball - Pool Billiard Tournament Series Euro tour . They took place from 5th to 7th August 2016 in the Tirana Expo Center in the Albanian capital Tirana and were the first tournament in the European tournament series in the Balkan state .

Mateusz Śniegocki won the tournament with a 9: 4 victory in the final against the German Joshua Filler . For the Pole, it was the third tournament victory on the Euro Tour after the Bosnia & Herzegovina Open 2013 and the Portugal Open 2015 .

The Austrian Mario He , who had won the previous Euro Tour tournament with the North Cyprus Open 2016 , was eliminated in the preliminary round. Albin Ouschan , who had become 9-ball world champion a few days earlier , lost to the Swede Marcus Chamat in the round of 16 .

Final round

The participants initially competed against each other in a double knockout system . 32 players qualified for the final round, which was played in the knockout system .
