Sebastian Ludwig (born March 22, 1988 ) is a German pool player . He was German champion in the 10-ball discipline in 2014 and 2017 .
Career
singles
Sebastian Ludwig started playing billiards in 1997 . At the German championship in 2007 he was ninth in 14/1 endless . In 2013 he won the Salzburg Open with a 7-2 final win against Benjamin Heimmerer . A year earlier he had lost in the final to Niels Feijen . At the German championship in 2013 he reached the quarter-finals in 14/1 endlessly, but lost it to Sascha Jülichmanns . He was ninth in the 9-ball . In 2014 he won the final in 10-Ball 9: 8 against Marcus Westen . In 2015 Ludwig was nominated for the first time for the European Championship , where he reached the round of 64 in 10-ball and 9-ball. In July 2015, he won the Stuttgart Open with a 7-5 win against Sebastian Staab .
At the Austrian Open 2015 he made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time . After victories against Alexander Kazakis , Mariusz Skoneczny and Mark Gray , he was eliminated in the semi-finals against Joshua Filler . In September 2015 Ludwig won the Hangelar Open in the final against Tristan Bialuschewski . At the Dutch Open 2015 he reached the semifinals, in which he lost to Albin Ouschan , the eventual winner of the tournament, and thus won the bronze medal of a Euro Tour tournament for the second time in a row. In November 2015 he reached third place in the 8-ball at the German championship after he was eliminated in the semi-finals against Geronimo Weißenberger .
At the EM 2016 he reached the round of 64 in 8-ball. At the North Cyprus Open 2016 he made it to the quarter-finals. In July 2016, he defended his title at the Stuttgart Open with a 7-5 final win over Evangelos Vettas . Three weeks later he won the Dresden Open in the final against Roman Hybler . In October 2016 he won the Salzburg Open for the second time with a 9: 8 final win against the reigning 9-ball world champion Albin Ouschan. At the German championship in 2016 he won the bronze medal in the 10-ball. He lost the semi-finals 6-8 against the eventual German champion Raphael Wahl . Two weeks later he reached the quarter-finals of the Treviso Open 2016 . He finished the German Tour 2016 as the first in the ranking. At the final tournament in early 2017, however, he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Earl Strickland .
At the 2017 European Championship , Ludwig was nominated for the 8-ball and 9-ball disciplines. After he was eliminated in the 8-ball in the round of 64, he achieved his best ever European Championship result in the 9-ball when he reached the sixteenth-finals, in which he was defeated by the Lithuanian Pijus Labutis . In October 2017 he reached the finals at the Klagenfurt Open , it was his eighth Euro Tour participation in which he succeeded. He then moved into the final for the first time with victories against Petri Makkonen , Eklent Kaçi , Fjodor Gorst and Denis Grabe . In the final against Ralf Souquet , Ludwig initially took a 5-1 lead, but had to admit defeat 6: 9 after Souquets caught up. A little later he became German 10-ball champion for the second time with an 8: 3 final win against Christoph Reintjes .

In the 2009/10 season Ludwig played with BC Joe's Dresden in the 2nd Bundesliga . From 2012 he played at Pool 2000 Leipzig . With the Leipzig team, he rose to the regional league in 2013. In 2015 he moved to the Bundesliga club BSV Dachau , with whose second team he played in the regional league. In the 2015/16 season he was also used twice in the first team, which became German champions that season. In the following season he came to four Bundesliga appearances with the Dachauers, who defended their title, and won all eight individual games. He then moved to the Bundesliga promoted PBC Joker Altstadt .
With the German national team, Ludwig reached third place at the 2015 European Championships . In 2016 he became European champion with her. In 2017 the preliminary round followed.
