Stuttgart Open

The Stuttgart Open is a pool tournament held annually by BC Feuersee since 2006 . It takes place in four venues in Stuttgart , Leonberg , Ludwigsburg and Filderstadt and is one of the largest billiards tournaments in Germany.

The Stuttgart Open was held for the first time in 2006 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of BC Feuersee . 167 participants from several European countries played the tournament in Stuttgart in a mix of 8-ball and 9-ball . With over 6,000 euros in prize money, the Stuttgart Open was already one of the most highly endowed pool tournaments in Germany in 2006. In 2007 the Stuttgart Open was expanded to include venues in Leonberg and Ludwigsburg . In 2008 over 200 players took part in the tournament, which was now played in 9-ball. By a 9: 4 final victory over Oliver Ortmann was Christian Reimering successfully defend his title from last year. The Stuttgart Open has been held in 10-ball since 2009 . Oliver Ortmann won the tournament in the final against the then 17-year-old Dominic Jentsch . Only about 100 players took part in the Stuttgart Open 2010, including world champions Oliver Ortmann and Thorsten Hohmann . Benjamin Heimmerer won the tournament, which Pool-Stage has been broadcasting on the Internet as a live stream since 2010, commented by Ralph Eckert . In 2011 around 170 players took part in the Stuttgart Open. Klaus Zobrekis won the final against Dennis Waldecker 9: 6. In 2012, Christian Reimering managed to win the Stuttgart Open for the third time. In 2013, Filderstadt was added as the fourth venue for the Stuttgart Open. Of the 168 participants, Sebastian Staab and Fitim Haradinaj played for the title in the final. The reigning German 10-ball master Staab prevailed 9: 3 and won the Stuttgart Open for the first time. Christian Reimering won the Stuttgart Open for the fourth time in 2014 with a 7: 4 win in the final against Marco Dorenburg . Sebastian Ludwig won the tournament in the following two years .
