Mehmet Cankurt (born June 18, 1981 ) is a German - Turkish pool player .
Career
In June 2006 Mehmet Cankurt reached the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the Austria Open , but he was eliminated in the sixteenth finals against the Italian Fabio Petroni . At the German championship of the same year, Cankurt was fifth in the 8-ball . In 2007 he reached the final of the Stuttgart Open , but lost it to Christian Reimering 8: 9. At the Netherlands Open 2008 he also made it into the final. There he was defeated by the German Ralf Souquet 5: 9. In November 2009, Cankurt was eliminated from the preliminary round of the 10-Ball World Championship . In January 2010 he came in twelfth place in the 9-ball competition of the Derby City Classic .
With the BSF Kurpfalz Cankurt became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008 and 2012 and thus rose to the 1st Bundesliga . In 2010 and 2013 , however, he rose again with the team.
