Nicolas "Nico" Ottermann (born September 30, 1986 ) is a German pool player . He became in 2005 Vice European Champion in the discipline endless 14/1 , was previously five times German champions and five-time European Junior Champion .

Career

At the German Individual Championship in 2004 Ottermann managed to get into the 16 best players for the first time. With a final win against Ralf Souquet , he became German 8-ball champion . He was fifth in the 9-ball . In 2005 he became vice European champion in the 14/1 endless . He lost to Thorsten Hohmann in the final . At the German Championship in 2005 he was able to defend his 8-ball title and was also German 9-ball champion after defeating Oliver Ortmann in the final. In the same year he also rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with the Astoria Walldorf team .

After he could not qualify in any discipline of the quarter-finals at the German Championship 2006 , he reached the second round at the 14/1 Endless World Championship 2007 . The 2007 German championship was again not very successful for him, he only reached the quarter-finals in 8-ball. With the team of BSV Dachau he finished fifth in his first season ( 2007/08 ) in the 1st Bundesliga and thus barely escaped relegation. After he was not among the 16 best players in any discipline at the German Championship in 2008 , he became German 9-ball champion in 2009 .

At the 2010 World Team , Ottermann reached the round of 16 with Germany 1 . However, the team lost 4-0 to eventual world champions United Kingdom 1 . In the same year he took part in an individual World Cup for the second time, the 2010 9-Ball World Cup . However, he was eliminated in the first round.

After being in season 2010/11 with the team of BV Morfelden-Walldorf won rose to the 1. Bundesliga he in the German championship in 2011 the bronze medal in the 8-ball, after the semi-final with 5: 9 against Dominic Jentsch lost . In 2012 he became German 9-ball champion with a 9: 7 final win against Sebastian Staab . In the same year he achieved his best result so far on the Euro Tour with a third place at the Austria Open 2012 . At the 2013 German championship , Ottermann became German runner-up in 9-ball with an 8: 9 final defeat against Marco Spitzky . He also came third in the 10-Ball after losing 4-8 to Sebastian Staab in the semi-finals.

Nicolas Ottermann is a member of the Bundeswehr Sports Promotion Group . He plays with a queue of the brand Euro West , his Break Cue is from the brand Predator . His nickname is caiman .
