Marco Spitzky (born December 31, 1992 in Hamburg ) is a German pool player . He became German champion in the 9-ball discipline in 2013 .

Career

Marco Spitzky started playing billiards at BC Queue Hamburg in 2007 . Only four years later he managed to get into the 16 best players for the first time at the German championship ; he finished ninth in the 9-ball . In 2013 he became German 9-ball champion with a 9: 8 win against defending champion Nicolas Ottermann . In January 2016 he reached the quarter-finals at the final tournament of the German Tour 2015 and lost there against Can Salim-Giasar . At the Dutch Open 2016 he made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time and was eliminated in the round of 32 against the then 9-ball European champion Francisco Sánchez .

At the end of the 2011/12 season , in which he was used for the first time in the 2nd Bundesliga , Spitzky moved to the newly promoted PBC The Gamblers , with whom he played for two years in the second division. He then returned to BC Queue and rose to the 1st Bundesliga with it in 2015 . In the 2015/16 season he was sixth with the Hamburg team in the first division and came second in the individual ranking.
