The final of the German Tour 2016 (also German Pool Masters 2016 ) was a pool tournament that took place from 4th to 8th January 2017 in Sindelfingen , Böblingen , Nürtingen , Pfullingen and Stuttgart . It marked the end of the third season of the German Tour tournament series and was the second staging of the largest billiards tournament in Germany with around 400 participants . Was played GT multiball ; Within a set, two games in each of the disciplines 10-ball , 9-ball and 8-ball were played cyclically .

The winner was the Swiss Dimitri Jungo , who defeated the Syrian Mohammad Soufi 7: 4 in the final. Third place went to Ivo Aarts and Farhad Shahverdi . The defending champion was the Czech Roman Hybler , who was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Shahverdi. The ranking first Sebastian Ludwig lost to the American Earl Strickland in the round of 16 .

The women's tournament was won by the Swiss Yini Gaspar with a 6: 5 final victory over the leader of the rankings Kristina Grim . Third place went to Sigrid Glatz and Nicole Mehren . The defending champion was Ina Kaplan . In the handicap competition, which was held for the first time, Manuel Radu was able to prevail in the final 7-2 against Klaus Knappe .

German Tour 2016

The German Tour 2016 comprised around 950 tournaments that were held between December 2015 and December 5, 2016 in Germany and Austria . According to the number of participants and the amount of the prize money distributed, points were awarded for the German Tour ranking list at the tournaments.

In the preliminary round, which took place from January 4 to 6, 2017, 300 players qualified via the German Tour ranking list competed against each other in 50 groups of 6 in round robin mode . The top two in each group qualified for the intermediate round, which took place on January 7th. In addition to the 100 players who reached the intermediate round via the preliminary round, 14 players were placed on the tour ranking list (places 2 and 4 to 16) and a total of ten wildcard players for this round. The players were divided into 31 groups of four, in which they competed against each other in a double knockout system . For the final round, which took place in Sindelfingen from January 7th to 8th, two players from each group qualified. In addition, Sebastian Ludwig was set first in the ranking and Roman Hybler as defending champion for the final round, in which the tournament was ended in the knockout system . All rounds were played with alternating breaks. The goal of the game was five games in the preliminary round, six in the intermediate round (four games in the loser's round) and seven games in the knockout phase.

These were divided into four groups in which they competed against each other in round robin mode . The four group winners qualified for the final round. Was played 9-Ball five competitions, in the final seven contests. No prize money was distributed.
