Farhad "Mazi" Shahverdi (born September 20, 1973 ) is an Iranian pool player .

Career

singles

In March 2007 Shahverdi reached the 8-ball world championship after victories against Henrik Asperup and Oliver Ortmann the round of 32, in which he lost 6:10 against the Filipino Joven Bustamante . At the end of the year, however, he retired without a win in the preliminary round when he first participated in the 9-Ball World Cup . In 2008 he was eliminated from both the 8-ball World Cup and the first-time 10-ball world championship in the preliminary round, where he succeeded in winning the 10-ball. In May 2009 he entered the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the German Open . After defeating the Swiss Marco Tschudi and the German Dominic Jentsch , among others , he was defeated 6: 8 by the Englishman Imran Majid in the round of 16 . At the 10-Ball World Cup 2009 he was eliminated without a win.

In January 2017, Shahverdi reached the semi-finals at the final tournament of the German Tour 2016 with a quarter-final win against defending champion Roman Hybler , in which he had to admit defeat to Syrian Mohammad Soufi 6: 7 in a high-class game.

With the Iranian national team Shahverdi took in 2010 at the World Team Championship in part. The team was eliminated without a win after defeats against Norway and Serbia.

From 2013 to 2015 he rose from the district league to the association league with BSV Pfullingen . For the 2015/16 season he moved to the regional division BC Sindelfingen .

Others

Shahverdi is the owner of the Magic Pool billiard center in Pfullingen and Die Drei in Sindelfingen .
