Holger Gries is a German pool player from Karben . He was previously twice European champion and five times German Single Champion of seniors .

Career

At the German championship in 2003 , Holger Gries was German champion in 14/1 endless . It was also the first time that he reached the knockout round at a German championship. In 2004 he was fifth in 9-ball , in 2005 he won the silver medal endlessly in 14/1. In 2006 he was again German champion in 14/1 and reached the quarter-finals in 8-ball for the first time . In January 2006, Gries reached his only round of 16 on the Euro Tour at the Czech Open .

At the German Championship 2007 Gries was able to successfully defend his title in 14/1 and reached the quarter-finals in 8-ball. In 2008 Gries became 8-ball European champion and won bronze in the 14/1 endlessly at the German championship . After becoming European 9-ball champion in 2009 and fifth in 8-ball European championships, he also succeeded in becoming German 8-ball champion for the first time at the 2009 German championship .

In addition, Gries managed to qualify for the 2010 9-ball World Cup in Doha , from which he was eliminated in the first round. At the German Championship 2010 he won bronze in 8-ball and silver in 9-ball. In 2011 he won his last German championship title in 9-ball. In 2012 he was eliminated in the 9-ball quarter-finals against the eventual German champion Martin Schwab . At the German Championship 2013 he again only reached the quarter-finals in 9-ball.
