Robert Silbereisen

Robert Silbereisen (* 1928 in Neuenbürg / Enz ; † May 6, 2016 ) was a German crop scientist .

Life

Robert Silbereisen studied agriculture at the University of Hohenheim , where he obtained his doctorate in 1960 after completing his diploma and doing research at the Institute for Fruit Growing. From 1960 to 1993 he worked - since 1973 as an academic senior councilor - at the experimental station for fruit growing in Ravensburg-Bavendorf with the main focus on cultivar science and ecology in fruit growing. In the 1960s and 1970s, together with F. Weller, he played a key role in mapping the ecological location of fruit growing in Baden-Württemberg . He worked closely with Walter Hartmann on fruit growing .
