The PBC Joker Altstadt , full name Pool Billard Club Joker 89 Altstadt e. V. , is a pool club from Kirkel . The first team of the club, founded in 1989, has played in the 1st Bundesliga since 2017 .

The PBC Joker Altstadt was founded in 1989 in the Old Town district of Kirkel . In the 1998/99 season he finished fifth in the 2nd Bundesliga . A year later he rose in eighth place in the league.

After finishing fifth in the association league in 2010 and 2011, they won all 18 league games in the 2011/12 season and thus rose to the top division. In the following season, the club managed to march through to the regional league with nine wins in nine league games. There they finished first with only one defeat and thus returned to the second division, in which they finished fourth in 2015 and fifth in 2016 . In the 2016/17 season , the PBC Joker was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga with an away win at PBC Hürth-Berrenrath on the last match day .

For the 2017/18 season , the Kirkeler signed the German 10-ball champion from 2014, Sebastian Ludwig , who had previously played in the second team of BSV Dachau .

In 2012 , Sebastian Staab became a member of the club of German champions in men's singles for the first time in the 10-ball discipline . In 2013 he won the titles in 8-ball and 10-ball, in 2014 in 8-ball.

The second team of the PBC Joker Altstadt rose in 2012 as second in the district league in the association league. There she reached first place a year later with only one defeat and thus made it to the top division. In the league she just missed promotion to the regional league in 2014 with one point behind PBC Völklingen and in 2015 tied with PBF Blieskastel . At the end of the 2016/17 season she was 16 points behind PBC Jägersburg runner-up.
