The Diamond Nine / Dynamic Billard Austrian Open in 2016 were the 142nd Tournament of 9-Ball - Pool Billiard Tournament Series Euro tour . They took place from April 14th to 16th, 2016 at the Alpina, Wellness & Sporthotel in St. Johann im Pongau , where the European Championship was held immediately before .

The Englishman Mark Gray won the tournament with a 9-5 victory in the final against the Swiss Ronald Regli .

Defending champion was the Dutchman Niels Feijen , who was eliminated in the round of 16 against his compatriot Marco Teutscher .

Final round

From the sixteenth finals, the games were played in the knockout system . The 32 participants in this round were determined in a double knockout system .
