Andreas Madsen (born February 14, 1997 in Frederiksberg ) is a Danish pool player .

Career

Andreas Madsen started playing billiards at the age of ten . Just three years later, he won the Nordic Championship. From 2012 to 2015 he was a total of eight Danish junior champions in the disciplines 8-ball , 9-ball and 10-ball . At the European Schoolchildren’s Championship in 2012 he was 9-ball European champion with a 7-4 final win against Daniel Macioł from Poland . A few days earlier he had lost the final in 10-Ball against the German Joshua Filler . In September 2012 he won his first medal in the Danish men's championship . In the 10-ball competition he reached the final and lost to his club-mate Bahram Lotfy . At the Junior World Championship in 2012 he reached ninth place. In 2013 he won the bronze medal in 9-ball at the Danish championship and in 8-ball at the European Schools' Championship . In 2014 he was nominated for the first time for the European Men's Championship . There he reached the round of 32 endlessly in 14/1 and the round of 64 in 8-ball. In addition, he was Danish champion in 8-ball and runner-up in 14/1 endless in 2014 . In both finals he played against Kasper Kristoffersen .

In February 2015, Madsen made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the Italian Open . In the round of the last 32, however, he was defeated by the Italian Pierfrancesco Garzia . A month later he lost the final of the Danish 8-ball championship against Kristoffersen as defending champion . In the 10-ball competition of the EM 2015 he made it to the quarter-finals and was eliminated with 3: 8 against the eventual European champion Alexander Kazakis . At the European Junior Championships in 2015 he won the silver medal in 9-ball after a 7-8 final defeat against Krystian Cwikla . At the 2016 European Championships , Madsen reached the round of 32 in the 8-ball and 10-ball disciplines. At the Austrian Open, which took place after the European Championship, he was defeated 8: 9 in the sixteenth-finals to the German Sebastian Staab . In May 2016 he made it to the finals of two competitions of the Danish championship . After losing 7: 9 to Daniel Kandi in 9-ball , he lost to Kasper Kristoffersen 3: 8 in 10-ball. With the Herlev Pool IF , Madsen has won two Danish championships so far. With the Danish national team, he finished 17th at the 2014 European Championship and ninth place in 2015.
