Mobilegeddon

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mobilegeddon is the update of the algorithm carried out by Google on April 21, 2015 , with which mobile-friendly websites are preferred in the organic search results and accordingly ranked higher than others. The term "Mobilegeddon" is a suitcase word made up of "mobile" and " Armageddon " to illustrate the drastic effects.

The next stage followed in May 2016 ("Mobilegeddon 2").

Effects

The effects became apparent shortly after the first stage, and in the meantime various studies (including the Adobe Digital Index ) have shown that websites that have not been sufficiently optimized for smartphones and tablets have been around ten percent of theirs since the first "Mobilegeddon" have lost annual data transfers.
