Witalij Iwanowytsch Pazura ( Ukrainian Віталій Іванович Пацура , English transcription Vitaliy Patsura; born June 19, 1997 ) is a Ukrainian pool player from Kiev . In 2016 he became European champion in the 8-ball discipline and in 2018 U23 European champion in 9-ball .

In December 2009 Pazura took part in the Ukrainian men's championship for the first time and reached the quarter-finals in the 10-ball competition. A year later he reached the quarterfinals in 9-ball . In June 2011 he became the Ukrainian junior champion in the disciplines 8-ball and 9-ball. In the men's 8-ball game, he was fifth in the same year. In July 2012 he was runner-up in the 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball disciplines at the Ukrainian junior championship after losing three times in the final to Leonid Klishchar . A little later he took part in the European Schoolchildren Championship for the first time. In his first competition (10-ball; he did not take part in the 14/1 endless competition) he made it to the semi-finals, in which he was defeated 3: 6 by the later European champion Joshua Filler . He then reached the semi-finals in 8-ball and the second round in 9-ball. In December he won his first medals at the men's Ukrainian championship when he reached the semifinals in 9-ball and 10-ball and was eliminated by Artem Koschowyj .

In July 2013, Pazura was Ukrainian junior champion in all four disciplines. At the 2013 European Schools Championship , however, he did not get past the quarter-finals. At the Ukrainian championship in 2013 he moved into the final of three competitions and met Artem Koschowyj there, against whom he had previously been knocked out in the quarterfinals in 14/1. After Pazura had lost in 8-ball and 9-ball, he prevailed 8: 5 in 10-ball and became Ukrainian champion for the first time. In March 2014 he took part in the European Men's Championship for the first time in Kyrenia . There he reached the final round in 14/1 and endlessly in 8-ball, but was eliminated in the round of the last 64. He then took part in a Euro Tour tournament for the first time , the North Cyprus Open 2014 , and was eliminated in the preliminary round. At the Ukrainian Junior Championship in 2014, he managed to defend his title in all four disciplines. At the Junior European Championships in 2014 , he won the bronze medal in 10-ball and 8-ball, after being eliminated in the semifinals against Joshua Filler and Raphael Wahl . At the end of the year he moved into the finals of the national championship in three competitions and lost each time just against Koschowyj. Only in the 14/1 endless he was eliminated in the semi-finals, also against Koschowyj.

In 2015, Pazura was Ukrainian junior champion in all four disciplines for the third time in a row. Shortly afterwards he took part in the European Junior Championships for the last time . After he had reached the semi-finals in 14/1, he became Junior European Champion in 10-Ball with a 7-5 final victory over Sergei Luzker . He then reached the round of 16 in 8-ball and the semi-finals in 9-ball. In December 2015, he won the 9-ball title in the Ukrainian championship with an 8: 3 win in the final against Valery Kovtun . Before that he had lost the final in 14/1 endlessly 94: 100 against Leonid Klischtschar and took third place in 8-Ball. In the 10-ball he was runner-up after a 4-8 final defeat against Klishchar.

In April 2016 Pazura took part in the European Men's Championship for the second time . After he was knocked out endlessly in 14/1 and in 10-ball in the round of 64, he moved into the final in 8-ball, after victories against former European champions Marcus Chamat , Niels Feijen and Šandor Tot , in which he with an 8: 7 win against the Spaniard Francisco Sánchez as the first Ukrainian European champion. In the final 9-ball competition, he was eliminated in the round of 64 against the Portuguese Miguel Silva . At the Austrian Open , which took place after the EM , he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In November 2016 he reached the round of 32 at the Kremlin Cup , in which he lost 8-1 to Maxim Dudanez . A few days later he won the final tournament of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup series. At the 2016 Ukrainian championship he won three championship titles. After he was knocked out endlessly in the round of 16 in the 14/1, he won the 8-ball final 7-2 against Arsen Petrosov . In the finals in 9-ball and 10-ball, he defeated Jewhen Talow 8: 5 and 8: 1, respectively. A few days later he also won the Ukrainian 9-ball student championship with a 7-0 final win against Dmytro Mamut .

At the EM 2017 , Pazura was eliminated in 14/1 endlessly and in 10-ball in the preliminary round. In the 8-ball competition he reached the round of 32, in which he lost 4-8 to Jakub Koniar from Slovakia . In the 9-ball he was eliminated in the round of 64 against Mateusz Śniegocki . Pazura then moved into the finals for the first time at the Portugal Open 2017 , his third participation in the Euro Tour. There he defeated Fjodor Gorst 9: 5, before he had to admit defeat to eventual tournament winner Nick van den Berg after a 4: 0 lead 8: 9 in the round of 16 . At the Kremlin Cup 2017 he was eliminated in the preliminary round. In November 2017 he again won the final tournament of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup with a 7-1 win against Oleksandr Hara . A month later, he became Ukrainian champion in all four disciplines , after beating Mykyta Rudenko four times in the final . While he won the title endlessly in 14/1 for the first time, he managed to defend his title in the three other competitions, in 9-ball for the second time.

In early 2018, Pazura became the Ukrainian student champion in 9-ball. A little later, victories at the Ukrainian Cup and the Kiev championship as well as a fifth place at the Best-of-the-East tournament in Chișinău followed . At the EM 2018 he played the disciplines 14/1 endless and 10-ball for the men and reached the round of 32 endless in 14/1. In 8-ball and 9-ball, he competed in the U23 age group. After he had to admit defeat in the 8-ball quarter-finals to the later European champion Casper Matikainen (7: 8), he moved into the final in 9-ball and met the Portuguese Samuel Santos , against whom he scored 5 in the preliminary round: 9 had lost. In the final, Pazura prevailed just 9: 8 and was two years after his first European title in the men's U23 European championship.

In July 2016, Pazura was part of the European team at the Atlantic Challenge Cup , which won the junior continental comparison against the USA 11: 3.

In September 2009 Pazura finished fifth in the final tournament of the Ukrainian Snooker Cup series. In November 2014 he reached the round of 16 at the Ukrainian championship , in which he lost 3-0 to the eventual champions Serhiy Issajenko . A month later he became Ukrainian U21 champions with a 3-2 final win against Mykola Nikiforow . In May 2015 he reached the final of the Ukrainian 6-Red Championship and lost 4-5 to Issajenko. In 2016 he reached the round of 16 at the Ukrainian championship and was eliminated from the 6-Red competition in the preliminary round. In February 2017 he reached the final of the Ukrainian student championship in snooker, in which he lost to Vitaly Swyst with 1: 3. At the 2017 men's national championship he lost to Anton Kazakov in the quarterfinals . In 2018 he became Ukrainian student champion with a 3-0 final victory against Andrij Schulga .
