Leonid Wladyslawowytsch Klishschar ( Ukrainian Леонід Владиславович Кліщар , English transcription: Leonid Klishchar ; born August 4, 1994 ) is a Ukrainian pool player from Kiev .

Career

In 2008 Leonid Klishchar became Ukrainian junior 9-ball runner-up after losing to Yevhen Novossad in the final . A year later he won the championship titles in 8-ball and 14/1 endless . In August 2009 he moved into the eighth-finals for the first time at the European Schoolchildren’s Championship in 8-Ball, in which he was defeated by the Dutchman Ivar Saris . In 2010 he became the Ukrainian junior champion in the disciplines 8-ball, 9-ball and 14/1. In the 10-Ball , however, he was eliminated in the quarterfinals against Vitaly Pazura . At the European Schoolchildren’s Championship in 2010 , he achieved his best result in this discipline by reaching the round of 16. In November 2010 he reached the semi-finals of the final tournament of the Ukrainian 9-Ball Cup, in which he lost to Jewhen Novossad. After reaching the quarter-finals twice in 2008 , Klishchar won his first medals at the 2010 Ukrainian championship . He moved into the finals in the disciplines 14/1 endless, 9-ball and 10-ball. After an 80: 100 defeat in 14/1 endlessly against Artem Koschowyj , Klishchar prevailed 8: 4 in the 9-ball final against Jewhen Prjachin and became Ukrainian champions for the first time. The next day he secured his second title with an 8-1 final win over Dmytro Ossypenko .

In March 2011, Klischtschar took part in the men's European championship for the first time in Brandenburg an der Havel , but was eliminated in all four competitions in the preliminary round. In June 2011 he became the Ukrainian junior champion in the disciplines 10-ball and 14/1. At the European Junior Championships in 2011 he reached the round of 16 endlessly in 14/1. At the 2011 Ukrainian championship he won bronze in 14/1 endlessly as well as in 8-ball and just missed defending his title in 10-ball with a 5-8 final defeat against Jaroslaw Wynokur . In the 9-ball competition, in which he was also defending champion, he was defeated by his successor Dmytro Ossypenko in the quarter-finals. In his last year as a junior athlete, Klischtschar won the national junior championship in 2012 with final wins against Vitaly Pazura and Anton Bondarenko in all four disciplines. At the Junior European Championships in the same year, in 14/1, he made another round of 16 infinitely, which was followed by a defeat against Adrian Borowiec from Poland .

After failing to take part in the previous two years, Klishchar secured two medals at the 2014 Ukrainian championship . He reached the semi-finals in 14/1, which he lost to Vitaly Pazura, and became Ukrainian 10-ball champion for the second time with an 8: 4 final win over Artem Koschowyj. A year later he managed to defend his title in the final against Pazura with an 8: 4 win. He had previously won the championship title in 14/1 endless and 8-ball by winning the final against Pazura (100: 94) and Oleksandr Kasjanow (7: 2) and was eliminated in the 9-ball semifinals against Pazura.
