Artem Witalijowytsch Koschowyj ( Ukrainian Артем Віталійович Кошовий , English transcription: Artem Koshovyi; born June 8, 1989 ) is a Ukrainian pool player from Kiev . He is the Ukrainian record champion with 20 titles and was twice vice European champion - 2010 in 14/1 endless and 2012 in 8-ball . 2017 he was Ukrainian champion in snooker .

At the European Youth Championships Artem Koschowyj won a total of four medals in individual competitions. After finishing third in the pupils' 9-ball in 2002 , he reached the final in 2003 and was defeated by the German Marko Schmidt . In 2006 and 2007 he won the bronze medal in the 8-ball junior competition. He was also vice European champion in 2004 with the Ukrainian school team and third in 2007 with the Ukrainian juniors. In 2005 he reached the semi-finals of the Junior World Championship .

At the European Championships in 2008 he reached the eighth finals in the disciplines 8-ball and 9-ball and was eliminated there against Robert Sudić and Darren Appleton . In March 2009, Koschowyj moved into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the Italy Open . In the round of the last 32 he was defeated by the Portuguese Pedro Fonseca just 8: 9. At the 2009 European Championships , he reached the round of 32 in 9-Ball. A year later , he won his first Men's European Championship medals. In the 14/1 endless competition he reached the final, in which he had to admit defeat to the Spaniard David Alcaide with 3: 125. He also reached the semi-finals in 10-ball and the quarter-finals in 9-ball. In July 2010 he made it to the finals of the 9-Ball World Championship for the first time, losing to Raymund Faraon in the round of 64 . At the Costa Blanca Open 2010 he reached his first Euro Tour round of 16 and lost it 7: 8 against Konstantin Stepanow .

At the EM 2011 he made it into the round of 16 in the 14/1 endless and 8-ball disciplines. In April 2011 Koschowyj was seventeenth at the Beijing Open. A few days later he reached the round of 64 at the 10-ball world championship , in which he was defeated by Sascha-Andrej Tege 5: 9. At the EM 2012 he moved into the 8-ball final and lost 8-0 to the Austrian Mario He . Previously, he had reached the quarter-finals in the 10-ball. After making it to the quarter-finals for the first time at the Austria Open 2012 , Koschowyj won his first Euro Tour medal at the German Open 2012 when he reached the semi-finals and was eliminated by Niels Feijen . He reached the quarter-finals at the North Cyprus Open in 2012 and 2013 as well as in the 14/1 endless competition of the EM 2013 .

At the 2014 European Championships , he reached the round of 16 in 10-ball. At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2014 , however, he was eliminated in the preliminary round. From 2014 onwards he only took part in a few Euro Tour tournaments. After not taking part in the European Championship in 2015 and only reaching the final round at the Dutch Open on the Euro Tour , he made it to the quarter-finals in the 9-ball competition of the European Championship 2016 , in which he lost 5-9 to Denis Grabe . In August 2016 he achieved his best result to date at a world championship. At the 9-Ball World Cup , after victories against Johann Chua and Chang Jung-Lin, he reached the round of 16, in which he was only just eliminated at 10:11 against the Scot Jayson Shaw . A little later he reached the round of 64 at the 2016 Kuwait Open .

At the 2017 European Championships he was nominated for the 8-ball and 9-ball competitions. In the 9-ball he reached the sixteenth finals, in which he lost to the later finalist Ronald Regli .

Already in 2005 Koschowyj won a tournament of the Ukrainian cup competition by beating Kostjantyn Kulyk in the final . Six years later he took part in the Ukrainian championship for the first time and reached the quarterfinals. In 2013 he moved into the final of the Ukrainian Cup, in which he defeated the record champions Serhiy Issajenko 4: 3 after a 3-0 deficit. In October 2017, he became Ukrainian champions for the first time with a 4-2 win over Wladyslaw Vyshnevskyj .
