Gabor Solymosi (born June 26, 1979 ) is a Hungarian pool player .

Career

At the Austrian Open 2008 , Solymosi made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time and was only barely defeated by the German Thomas Seiffert in the round of 32 with 8: 9 . In August 2008 he reached the round of 32 at the European Championships , for which he was nominated for the first time that year, in which he lost 3: 9 to eventual European champion Stephan Cohen . At the Italy Open 2011 he reached the round of 16 with a 9: 8 win against Karlo Dalmatin , which he lost to Oliver Ortmann 3: 9 . In December 2013 the Treviso Open reached a second Euro-Tour round of 16 and was defeated by the Dutchman Huidji See . At the European Championships in 2016 he made it into the last 16 in the disciplines of 8-ball and 10-ball . After losing 5-8 to Jürgen Jenisy in the 10-ball competition , he was eliminated in the 8-ball competition with a 4-8 defeat against Mario He .

So far Solymosi has participated in the World Cup of Pool three times . In 2006 he retired together with Vilmos Földes in the first round. In his two following participations he formed the Hungarian team together with Miko Balasz . After another first round defeat in 2012 , they reached the quarter-finals in 2013 , in which they were eliminated against the eventual winners of the tournament ( Lee Van Corteza and Dennis Orcollo ).

With BC German Kreutz Solymosi was in the Bundesliga in 2010 second and 2011 and 2012 Austrian champion. After the 2012/13 season , in which the club had finished third, the club announced its Bundesliga team. Solymosi then switched to the PBC Billardtempel Linz , with whom he was runner- up in the 2013/14 season. He then moved to the X-Press Innsbruck pool , where he was Austrian champion in the 2014/15 season .
