Tronville-en-Barrois is a French commune with 1,438 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Bar-le-Duc and is part of the canton of Ancerville (until 2015 canton of Ligny-en-Barrois ).

Tronville-en-Barrois is located on the Ornain , about 60 kilometers west of Nancy . The Canal de la Marne au Rhin ( German: Rhine-Marne Canal ) runs parallel to the Ornain . Tronville-en-Barrois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Culey in the north and north-west, Salmagne in the north-east, Nançois-sur-Ornain in the east, Velaines in the south and south-east, Nant-le-Grand in the south-west and Guerpont in the west.
