Vavincourt is a municipality in north-eastern France with 514 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Bar-le-Duc and the canton Bar-le-Duc-2 (until 2015: Canton Vavincourt ).

Vavincourt is about six kilometers northeast of Bar-le-Duc . Vavincourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Hauts-de-Chée in the north and northwest, Seigneulles in the north and northeast, Érize-la-Brûlée in the northeast, Rumont in the east, Naives -Rosières and Behonne in the south and Chardogne in the west.
