Waly is a French commune with 60 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bar-le-Duc and to the community association L'Aire à l'Argonne, founded in 2016 .
geography
Waly is located on the southeastern edge of the Argonne , about 30 kilometers southwest of Verdun . The municipal area is mostly flat at about 210 m above sea level. In the north-west, the most south-easterly wooded foothills of the Argonne extend into the community area. The highest point is reached here at 305 m above sea level. Several streams have their source in the municipality of Waly; they drain to the southwest over the Thabas to the Aisne . Waly is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lavoye in the north, Autrécourt-sur-Aire in the east, Foucaucourt-sur-Thabas in the south and Beaulieu-en-Argonne in the west and northwest.

Economy and Infrastructure
There are five farms in the municipality of Waly, which mainly grow grain.
The departmental road D20 runs through Waly from Seuil-d'Argonne to Ippécourt . In Rarécourt , nine kilometers away, there is a connection to the A4 Autoroute (Paris – Strasbourg); the Meuse TGV railway station is located 18 kilometers southeast of Waly.
