Cousances-les-Forges is a French commune with 1,688 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Bar-le-Duc arrondissement and is part of the canton of Ancerville .
geography
Cousances-les-Forges is 20 kilometers southwest of Bar-le-Duc . Cousances-les-Forges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Rupt-aux-Nonains in the north and northeast, Aulnois-en-Perthois in the east and northeast, Savonnières-en-Perthois in the east and southeast, Narcy in the south, Chamouilley in the west and Ancerville in the Northwest.
The Route nationale 4 runs along the northern border of the municipality .

In 1965 the municipalities of Cousances-aux-Forges and Cousancelles were merged.
