Revigny-sur-Ornain is a French commune in the department of Meuse in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement Bar-le-Duc and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Revigny-sur-Ornain .

Revigny-sur-Ornain is located on the Ornain River , about 15 kilometers northwest of Bar-le-Duc .
Revigny-sur-Ornain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brabant-le-Roi in the north, Laimont in the northeast, Neuville-sur-Ornain in the east, Vassincourt in the southeast, Mognéville and Andernay in the south, Contrisson in the southwest, Rancourt-sur-Ornain in the West and Vroil and Nettancourt to the northwest.

In the station of Revigny-sur-Ornain only some trains stop TER line Nancy - Reims . The TER Vallée de la Marne from Bar-le-Luc to Paris passes through Revigny without stopping.
On November 12, 1946, a serious railway accident occurred at the station in Revigny-sur-Ornain . 31 people died, about half of them school children. All of the dead were residents of Revigny-sur-Ornain.
