The municipality is crossed by the Saulx , a tributary of the Marne . Lavincourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bazincourt-sur-Saulx in the north, Montplonne in the northeast, Stainville in the southeast, Aulnois-en-Perthois in the southwest and Rupt-aux-Nonains in the west.
