Bazincourt-sur-Saulx is a French commune with 147 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality is part of the Bar-le-Duc arrondissement , the canton of Ancerville and the Portes de Meuse municipal association founded in 2016 .
geography
The municipality is located around thirty kilometers southwest of the Lorraine Regional Nature Park . It is crossed by the Saulx , a tributary of the Marne . Bazincourt-sur-Saulx is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Brillon-en-Barrois in the northwest, Montplonne in the north and east, Lavincourt in the south and Rupt-aux-Nonains and Haironville in the west.
Place name
The place name Bazincourt is probably due to the name Bazinicurtis , which means something like "The Land of Bazin".
