Resson is a commune in north-eastern France with 391 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Bar-le-Duc and the canton Bar-le-Duc-1 (until 2015: canton Vavincourt ).

Resson is about five kilometers east of the city center of Bar-le-Duc . Resson is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Naives-Rosières in the north, Culey in the east, Silmont in the south and south-east, Longeville-en-Barrois in the south and south-west and Bar-le-Duc in the west.
