The canton of Bar-le-Duc-1 is a French constituency in the Bar-le-Duc arrondissement , in the Meuse department and in the Grand Est region (until the end of 2015, Lorraine ). The main town of the canton is the municipality of Bar-le-Duc .
history
The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its communes come from the previous cantons of Vavincourt (8 communes), Bar-le-Duc-Sud (3 communes) and Bar-le-Duc-Nord (1 commune).

The canton is located in the southwest of the Meuse department.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Patricia Champion / Arnaud Merveille (both UD) won against Diana André / Arnaud Mac Farlane (both PS ) with 55.86% of the votes (turnout: 47.01%).
