The canton of Belleville-sur-Meuse is a French constituency in the Arrondissement Verdun , in the Meuse department and in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until the end of 2015 ). The capital of the canton is the municipality of Belleville-sur-Meuse .
history
The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its communes come from the previous cantons of Charny-sur-Meuse (16 communes) and Étain (12 communes).

The canton is located in the northern half of the Meuse department, north and northeast of the city of Verdun .

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Régine Munerelle / Yves Peltier (both DVD) won against Benoît Bailliot / Danielle Lepointe (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 65.89% (turnout: 54.72%).
