The canton of Verdun-2 is a French constituency in the Arrondissement of Verdun , in the Meuse department and in the Grand Est region (until the end of 2015 Lorraine ).
history
The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its communes come from the previous cantons of Verdun-Center (Belleray and Dugny-sur-Meuse), Verdun-Est (Belrupt-en-Verdunois and Haudainville) and various quarters in the northern part the city of Verdun.

The canton is located in the northern part of the Meuse department.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the five voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Jérôme Dumont / Véronique Philippe (both UMP) won against Sarah Szymanski / Jean-François Thomas (both PS ) with a share of the vote of 51.04% (turnout: 44.73%).
