The canton of Dieue-sur-Meuse is a French constituency in the arrondissements of Bar-le-Duc , Commercy and Verdun , in the department of Meuse and in the Grand Est region (until the end of 2015 Lorraine ). The main town of the canton is the municipality of Dieue-sur-Meuse .

history

The canton was created when the French cantons were redistributed in 2015. Its communes come from the previous cantons of Pierrefitte-sur-Aire (all 26 communes), Souilly (all 18 communes), Seuil-d'Argonne (all 13 communes) and Verdun -Est (5 of the 8 municipalities).

location

The canton is located in the west and in the center of the Meuse department.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Serge Nahant / Frédérique Serré (both DVDs) won against Christine Habart / Christian Namy (both UDI ) and Josiane Dautel / David Masson (both FN ) with a 44.35% share of the vote (turnout : 57.60%).
