Sommedieue is a French commune with 977 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015: Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun , the canton Dieue-sur-Meuse (until 2015: canton Verdun-Est ) and the communal association Communauté de communes Val de Meuse-Voie Sacrée .

geography

Sommedieue is about twelve kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Verdun . Sommedieue is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Belrupt-en-Verdunois in the north, Châtillon-sous-les-Côtes and Watronville in the northeast, Haudiomont and Bonzée in the east, Rupt-en-Woëvre in the south, Génicourt-sur-Meuse in the south and southwest, Dieue-sur-Meuse in the west and Haudainville in the northwest.

The A4 autoroute runs through the north of the municipality. The Verdun-Le Rozelier airfield is also located there.
