Pouilly-sur-Meuse (until 1922 only Pouilly ) is a French commune with 178 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Verdun and to the municipality association Pays de Stenay et Val Dunois, founded in 2016 .

Pouilly-sur-Meuse is located on the left bank of a bend in the Meuse , about 30 kilometers southeast of Sedan .

Attractions

Economy and infrastructure There are seven farms in the community (cereal and vegetable growing, dairy farming, cattle breeding).

Four kilometers east of Pouilly-sur-Meuse, the trunk road runs from Sedan via Stenay to Verdun . Other roads connect Pouilly with the neighboring municipalities of Moulins-Saint-Hubert and Luzy-Saint-Martin.

The noble family Mensdorff-Pouilly comes from Pouilly . The best-known representative of the family born in Pouilly was Emmanuel von Mensdorff-Pouilly (* 1777), Austrian Lieutenant Field Marshal and Vice-Governor of the Mainz Fortress .
