The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Verdun , the canton Clermont-en-Argonne (until 2015: canton Montfaucon-d'Argonne ) and the municipality association Argonne-Meuse . The inhabitants are called Gercourtois .

Gercourt-et-Drillancourt is about 21 kilometers north-northwest of Verdun . Gercourt-et-Drillancourt is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Dannevoux in the north, Consenvoye in the east, Forges-sur-Meuse in the south and south-east, Béthincourt in the south, Cuisy in the west and south-west and Septsarges in the west.
