Career

Lakeman didn't start gymnastics until he was 14. In 2000 (other sources speak of 2001) he became the US ring champion .

During his active career, Lakeman gained his first experience as a trainer and exercise leader. From 2002 to 2013 he coached the South Florida Gymnastics . In 2013 he went to Australia, where he last coached the Barron Valley Gymnastics in Cairns .

In December 2016, Lakeman signed a four-year contract as head coach of the Karlsruhe Artistic Gymnastics Region and thus the TG Karlsruhe-Söllingen in the German Gymnastics League (DTL). He thus succeeded Tatjana Bachmayer . Under the new coach, the TG Karlsruhe-Söllingen reached the DTL final again in 2017 , but also missed victory again in 2017 after four runner-up titles in a row.
