DTL finals

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German-Turn League Finals ( DTL-finals ) is the largest national gymnastics championship. At the end of the year, the climbers in the 1st and 2nd national leagues, the relegated in the 2nd national leagues and the regional leagues and the champions of the 1st national leagues of men and women are determined in four competitions.

Devices at the DTL finals

The men do gymnastics on the floor, pommel horse, rings, jump, parallel bars and horizontal bar. The devices are sorted in this order; H. exercised in the "Olympic Rotation". Each gymnast may present his exercise to the judges once. Two jumps only need to be shown when jumping. The final score is the average of the scores for both jumps.

The women also do gymnastics in the Olympic order on the jump, uneven bars, balance beam and floor equipment.

The scoring system

For several years, gymnastics in the men's national leagues has been based on the "score system": four gymnasts per device show their exercises, the opposing trainer must assess the performance and use a gymnast of his choice, who then scores in direct comparison with his opponent. Can score points for the team. A lot of tactical skill is required when betting; each team has to submit twice and can react twice. The number of score points depends on the extent to which the performances shown differ - a maximum of five points are awarded; If the exercises are equally good, both duelists receive zero points. The judges determine the distances according to an international rating code, which precisely defines the value of individual elements and the deductions for errors of different severity.

After the referee scandal at the Olympic Games in Athens, there was a fundamental change in the scoring rules in 2004. As of 2006, 10.0 will no longer be the upper limit of the rating; Instead, the assessment is divided into the execution of the exercise (B grade, from 10.0 points downwards) and the difficulty of the exercise (A grade, open to the top). The level of difficulty is added to the B grade and is determined from the ten most difficult elements of the exercise. An A part (e.g. a giant rim on the horizontal bar) is worth 0.1 points, a B part (e.g. a straight somersault on the floor) is worth 0.2 points, a C part (e.g. Double somersault on the ground) 0.3 and so on. The currently most difficult elements (e.g. a triple somersault on the floor) are F-parts and are therefore worth 0.7 points. There are four structural groups (EG) on each device, which must be fulfilled, and each bring a 0.5 point bonus, as well as a difficult finish. Anyone who combines difficult elements, such as flight elements on the horizontal bar, receives additional bonus points. Due to the new evaluation rules, the execution is again particularly important, because posture and technique errors are severely punished in the B grade - there is also a tendency to significantly longer exercises. From now on, the new system can remain permanent because difficult elements are simply integrated as G or H parts - the second big advantage: It can theoretically be used down to the lowest classes. Excellent ratings are currently over 15 points.

The mode at the DTL promotion finals

The mode of ascension differs between men and women.

Men

The two season winners of the second national leagues north and south compete for the place in league one, from which the first division bottom light automatically descends. Likewise, the four best teams of the regional leagues north and south compete in two duels for promotion to league two, while the last teams in the second leagues north and south are relegated directly. Up to ten teams from the major leagues of the regional gymnastics associations fight for promotion to the regional league.

Women

In the case of gymnasts, the first division bottom is automatically relegated, the preliminary round winner of the second division is promoted to the highest gymnastics class immediately. The sixth and seventh-placed teams in the first division are fighting with the second and third in the second division for two first division places. The same procedure is used between the second Bundesliga and the regional league.
