Liny-devant-Dun is about 30 kilometers north-north-west of Verdun on the Meuse (French: Meuse ). Liny-devant-Dun is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Dun-sur-Meuse in the north, Fontaines-Saint-Clair in the northeast, Vilosnes-Haraumont in the south and east, Brieulles-sur-Meuse in the south and west and Cléry-le-Petit in the Northwest.
