The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun and the canton of Clermont-en-Argonne (until 2015: canton Charny-sur-Meuse ). The inhabitants are called Fromerévillois .

Fromeréville-les-Vallons is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marre in the north and north-east, Thierville-sur-Meuse in the east, Verdun in the south-east, Baleycourt in the south, Sivry-la-Perche in the west and south-west, Béthelainville in the west and Montzéville in the north-west.
