Mont-devant-Sassey is a French commune in the Meuse department in the region Grand Est (before 2016: Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun , the canton of Stenay (until 2015: canton of Dun-sur-Meuse ) and the municipal association of Pays de Stenay et du Val Dunois .

Mont-devant-Sassey is located about 46 kilometers north-north-west of Verdun on the Meuse , surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montigny-devant-Sassey in the north and north-west, Saulmory-Villefranche in the north and north-east, Mouzay in the north-east, Sassey-sur-Meuse in the east and South-east, Doulcon in the south and Villers-devant-Dun in the west and south-west.
