Velosnes is a French commune with 165 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun and is part of the canton of Montmédy . The inhabitants are called Velosnois .

geography

Velosnes is about 48 kilometers north of Verdun am Chiers and on the border with Belgium . Velosnes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Écouviez and Rouvroy in the north and east, Épiez-sur-Chiers in the east and south-east, Charency-Vezin in the south-east, Villers-le-Rond in the south, Flassigny in the south-west, Othe in the west and south-west, Bazeilles- sur-Othain in the west and northwest and Villécloye in the northwest.
