Combres-sous-les-Côtes is a French commune with 118 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015: Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun , the canton Étain (until 2015: canton Fresnes-en-Woëvre ) and the municipality association Territoire de Fresnes-en-Woëvre .
geography
The municipality is located in the Lorraine Regional Nature Park, founded in 1974 . Combres-sous-les-Côtes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Trésauvaux in the north, Saulx-lès-Champlon in the east, Herbeuville in the south-east, Saint-Remy-la-Calonne in the south-west and Les Éparges in the west.
history
During the First World War , the front that ran through the municipality was held by the French 301st Infantry Regiment until December 1914 . On January 1, 1915, the German army broke through the front line.
