Saulmory-Villefranche (previously: Saulmory-et-Villefranche ) is a French commune with 87 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (before 2016: Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun , the canton of Stenay (until 2015: canton of Dun-sur-Meuse ) and the municipality association Pays de Stenay et du Val Dunois .

geography

Saulmory-Villefranche is about 48 kilometers north-north-west of Verdun on the Meuse , which borders the municipality in the east. Saulmory-Villefranche is surrounded by the neighboring communities Wiseppe in the north, Stenay in the northeast, Mouzay in the east and northeast, Mont-devant-Sassey in the south and Montigny-devant-Sassey in the west and southwest.
