Esnes-en-Argonne is a French commune with 136 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (before 2016: Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Verdun , the canton Clermont-en-Argonne (until 2015: canton Varennes-en-Argonne ) and the municipality association Argonne-Meuse .

Esnes-en-Argonne is about 18 kilometers west-northwest of Verdun . Esnes-en-Argonne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Malancourt in the north and north-west, Béthincourt in the north and north-east, Cumières-le-Mort-Homme in the north-east, Chattancourt in the east, Montzéville in the south and Avocourt in the west and south-west.
