Esnes-en-Argonne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Malancourt in the north and north-west, Béthincourt in the north and north-east, Cumières-le-Mort-Homme in the north-east, Chattancourt in the east, Montzéville in the south and Avocourt in the west and south-west.
