Ambly-sur-Meuse is located about 17 kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Verdun on the Canal de la Meuse and the Meuse (French: Meuse ). Ambly-sur-Meuse is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Génicourt-sur-Meuse in the north, Rupt-en-Woëvre in the northeast, Ranzières in the east, Troyon in the south, Tilly-sur-Meuse in the south and southwest and Villers-sur-Meuse in the West.
