Rouvres-en-Woëvre is a French commune with 604 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Verdun and the canton of Bouligny ( canton of Étain until 2015 ).
geography
Rouvres-en-Woëvre is located about 50 kilometers west-northwest of Metz and about 35 kilometers east-northeast of Verdun . Rouvres-en-Woëvre is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Éton in the north, Dommary-Baroncourt in the north and northeast, Affléville in the northeast, Gondrecourt-Aix in the east and northeast, Béchamps in the east and southeast, Lanhères in the south and southeast, Boinville-en- Woëvre in the south, Warcq in the southwest and Étain in the west.
The Étain-Rouvres military airfield is located in the municipality . Currently (since 1977) the 3rd combat helicopter regiment is stationed there.
