Sampigny is a French commune in the department of Meuse in the region of Grand Est (2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Commercy and the canton Dieue-sur-Meuse (until 2015: canton Pierrefitte-sur-Aire ). The community has 706 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Sampigny is located on the Meuse between Commercy and Saint-Mihiel at an altitude between 221 and 350 m above sea level, the mean height is 227 m. The municipal area covers 20.53 km².

Attractions
Sights include the ruins of the castle, built around 1630 by architect Jacques Labrosse for Louis de Guise, supposedly based on plans for the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. The castle was destroyed in the First World War. There is also the small Château du Clos, where Raymond Poincaré spent his old age. Today the Château houses the Raymond Poincaré Museum.
