Sampigny-lès-Maranges wine region
Mainly red wine is produced. The municipality of Sampigny-lès-Maranges has shared the appellation named after it with the sister municipalities of Cheilly-lès-Maranges and Dezize-lès-Maranges since 1989 . All three are located on the Les Maranges vineyard with the Premiers Crus Fussière , Croix Moines , the Crus Clos de la Boutière , Clos de la Fussière , Clos Roussots , Clos des Loyères and Clos des Rois . The Pinot noir cultivated here is made with small proportions of the Pinot Liébault and Pinot gris grapes. While the place had its own appellation until May 23, 1989, the wines are now listed under the common appellation Maranges Contrôllée , but they can also be sold as Côte de Beaune or Côte de Beaune-Villages .
