Crissey is a French commune with 2,480 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Saone-et-Loire in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté . It belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and is part of the canton Chalon-sur-Saône-1 (until 2015: canton Chalon-sur-Saône-Nord ). The inhabitants are called Crissotins .

Crissey is located on the Saone River . Crissey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Virey-le-Grand in the north, Sassenay in the east, Châtenoy-en-Bresse in the south-east, Chalon-sur-Saône in the south and west and Fragnes-La Loyère in the west and north-west.
