Châtenoy-en-Bresse is about four kilometers east-northeast of Chalon-sur-Saône . The Saône limits the municipality to the north. Châtenoy-en-Bresse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Crissey in the north and north-west, Sassenay in the north and north-east, Allériot in the east, Oslon in the south and south-east, Saint-Marcel in the south and south-west and Chalon-sur-Saône in the west.
