Lessard-le-National is a French municipality with 644 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Saône-et-Loire in the Région Bourgogne Franche-Comté . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Chalon-sur-Saône and the canton Gergy (until 2015: canton Chagny ).

Lessard-le-National is about nine kilometers north of Chalon-sur-Saône . Lessard-le-National is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Demigny in the north, Gergy in the east, Virey-le-Grand in the east and south-east, Fragnes-La Loyère in the south and south-west, Fontaines in the west and south-west and Chagny in the north-west.
