Fragnes-La Loyère is located about four kilometers north of Chalon-sur-Saône on the Canal du Center . Fragnes-La Loyère is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lessard-le-National in the north, Virey-le-Grand in the east and northeast, Crissey in the east and southeast, Chalon-sur-Saône in the south, Champforgeuil in the south and southwest, Farges-lès -Chalon to the west and Fontaines to the northwest.
The A6 autoroute runs through the municipality . Chalon-Champforgeuil Airport is located in the southwest of the municipality .
